Well, she's two, and it still isn't going...
Here's our conversation just last night:
(in the bedroom to change her diaper since she was wet)
"no, I don't want to put a diaper on Mommy"
-okay Livvy, should we wear underwear instead?
"No"
-okay, do you want to pick out a pair of underwear to wear?
"Ummm.. ok"
(picks them out and then has a hay day trying to jump into them and get out of them, just dancing all over the place and laughing about it alot! it was pretty funny)
(now the underwear are on)
-okay Livvy, remember, when we wear underwear if we need to go to the bathroom we use the big girl potty - just like mommy and daddy and other BIG GIRLS!
"i'm a big girl"
-yes you are, and big girls use the potty. so do big sisters, are you a big sister?
"yes, mom i'm a big SISTER!"
(playing ensues in the living room)
(at a certain point, i can tell she needs to use the potty)
-livvy should we go potty together?
"no, i don't need to go potty"
-should we go sit and read the potty book on the potty
"no, read the potty book not on the potty"
(i decide to drop it)
(about two minutes later, she is standing up in the corner playing at her desk area and she starts peeing - i interupt)
-little girl, let's go use the potty - you need to pee in the potty like a big girl
"no, mommy, i not need the potty, i went pee on the floor already"
honestly.... this was how the entire ordeal went... ***sigh***
Advice: do not let it bother you....she just turned 2. You could literally have more than a years worth of these conversations to go with her :-)
ReplyDeletehahahah... i suppose. i just already feel like a failure that she isn't potty trained, but i know a lot of other people that have two year olds in diapers too.. just wished mine would cooperate and make things easy for me. hahahahahah
