Our smart little Livvy is 2 years old today!

We thought we should do a catch up for Livvy's habits... At two years old here's some of the milestones she has reached:
She can count to 13
She has conversations with mom and dad
-daddy, livvy needs help.
--what do you need help with
-i need help stacking the cups
--like this?
-yes...i'm going to kick them over
--you kicked them over, should we stack them again
-yes please, i kicked them
--stack them on the floor now daddy

Or when i was overseas, we would skype and she would tell mom stories about what she did that day, what she ate for lunch or dinner, what she was doing

They say when a child reaches the age two, they will have about 50 words in their vocabulary.  I'd guess that Olivia has closer to 500 words!  Just in the last 30 minutes as i've been writing this, she's said:
turn the tv on, i want to watch pooh daddy
no pictures mommy
I'm bouncing, i'm jumping, i fell
mommy/daddy, what are you doing? (repeat, repeat, repeat)
oh no, livvy, why did you do that? (when she spills something or accidentally does something)
ready, set, go
what's this thing?
i want to play with them outside
i want to color outside
i'm helping mommy cook
we're eating cucumbers daddy; dipping cucumbers
i'm going to be nice (when asked if she is being naughty)
rock and roll baby
game over (when she falls off of dad's back)
livvy put it on
that twinkle star is sleeping
i'm too little
i need money daddy, i'm going to give piggy money.  i put piggy back.

She identifies cars and houses: Al's house (when she sees our neighbor Al's house), Livvy's house, etc.  She knows most body parts (a little more than we wish she would remember ;-)  She identifies all of Pooh characters and talks about their characteristics.  She's also pretty good with Sesame Street characters.

She identifies garbage very successfully - anything on the floor, any discarded piece of paper, and lucky for mom and dad, she will go through it away for us!

If she puts on a purse or purse esque item she tells us she is going to get groceries.  Usually says "bye bye mommy and daddy, I'm going to get groceries."

Last week she pretended to use something as a phone and said "Allie, Quinn, want to go to pool? okay, bye bye"

Everytime mom or dad cough she has to say "mommy okay?" "daddy okay?".  If we sneeze she says "bless you mommy/daddy"

She was being smart with me the other day, quite sassy actually, and I just gave her a look and she responded with "is Livvy being sassy?"  - priceless!

She can identify boys and girls successfully.  Sometimes she even gets one wrong so she can smile and go, noooooo daddy's a boy - instead of the wrong thing she had just said.

She dreams quite a bit, especially during nap time she will start in on some story when she wakes up.  the other day it was about how it was raining out and raining and mom, it was raining...

She sings the wheels on the bus, does finger actions for where is thumbkin, sings along to all the Pooh songs (as well as dances for the songs - and has different dances for each song).

She has recently woke dad up on two separate occasions with unreasonable demands (she wanted a fresh blanky and wouldn't stop asking for one and then the other time she had taken her sock off and wanted it back on - not so unreasonable, but why did she take it off in the first place?, or when she found 'garbage' in her bed - a sticker that had been attached to her blanket and she wouldn't stop until dad came in and threw it away).

Olivia is such a great eater.  We really can't complain about that!  Some of her favorite foods:  blueberries, bananas, string cheese, eggs, avocados, raisins/craisins/banana chips, and cheerios.  Olivia drinks milk or water (typically needs both with her at the table - and as of the last few months insists on having an ice cube in her water).

Of course, Olivia has started to really show her independence.  She frequently wants to handle things on her own, but then cannot perform the task - taking off her clothes or putting them on, working with stickers (which she loves to do!), coloring - though she regularly asks for mommy or daddy to color too, but putting the crayons away is her task and she doesn't want help!

She loves to look at pictures and videos on the computer, and talks about those events.  And at night, she likes to recap on what she did or saw that day... her processing is so cool!

She now mostly fits into only 2T clothes, even 24 months are mostly too small now.  She just switched to a size 5 diaper; we had been with 4s for quite some time, but she just got big enough for the 5s and they seem a little roomier... She really isn't interested in potty training.  She will sit on the potty for 20 minutes, when you know she has to go, but she will wait until she leaves the potty area to actually go.  We've learned our lessons too many times about not putting a diaper back on right away, so that is what happens..  She's not in love with brushing her teeth, but will do it - hopefully this habit changes soon!

She likes to pick out her books at night, and knows most of them by name.  She really does enjoy reading and being read to, especially if she isn't tired!

Olivia loves to help with laundry - she helps mom put laundry in the washer or dryer and then starts washer or dryer.  She always says "I'm helping mommy; I'm a big helper".  She sure is!

We cannot believe she is two.  She is precious and amazing and all the things that make life amazing - we look forward to what the next year has to bring!  We love you Olivia!
