Lincoln has a head
bobble. It's different than Olivia's
which was more of a neck wobble bob, but Lincoln's was more of a head shake
bobble - with his head going back and forth really fast.
After starting
cereals around 6 months, we started him on vegs and fruits around 7 months, and
the little guy did okay for a bit, but then got really bound up for about a
week. Let's just say, when he ended up
going, he really struggled and mom had to help him through it. The ending was relief, for sure, but it was
an impressive enough diaper that mom not only took a photo, but also was sure
to show it around - doctors, friends and family were all in shock when they say
it, and showed the little boy all kinds of empathy! His favorite foods seem to be the green
vegetables, so far with green beans and peas.
But I do think he enjoys all of his food as long as it isn't
cold:-) We've found, through mom being
out of the country, just like this week, that dad has his work cut out for him, because unlike
Olivia, Lincoln is very particular about the temperature of his milk - and he
wants it to be warm!
Lincoln has been participating in the Skype sessions that mom has while abroad right now, and he does turn to look at the screen when mom is on and talking. He smiles when mom says his name. But he is still only saying 'dadadada'.
He likes being in his
walker in the kitchen, but mostly just pushes himself backwards; we don't think he has a forward gear. For the most part he juts stands up while he
is 'sitting in it', and pushes things around 'command central' - knocking one
hard thing against another and sucking on toys.
He loves playing
with his tool bench, a little fisher price toy, and he squeals at excitement
from the lights. He mostly bangs on it
with other toys, and then knocks it forward against his face. I think they need to go back to design on
that one, and make a bigger base at the front of it. He enjoys playing with the ball popper, and
though he doesn't have command over the balls all the time, he is really trying to get them and put them back,
etc.
