Mom, mom, mom..... that's probably what Lincoln thinks when he wakes up right now ;-) No, he actually lays on his back nicely and wakes up calmly - in between Mom and Dad.. and Livvy is typically there by the time we actually wake up too ;-) Sometimes Lincoln wakes up to his sister mauling him, or grabbing his hand and holding it while she swings his arm all around. Let's be honest, Lincoln isn't going to ever know a calm without a big sister being silly and sassy! Sometimes Lincoln gets to watch a little bit of Thomas the Train with his big sister before he heads to the changing table, which is a RACE! Olivia and Lincoln race to see who gets dressed fastest.. Olivia gets to win quite frequently, but let's just say, that racing thing has made our mornings much more efficient, as Olivia used to DRAG HER FEET TO GET READY... it was really frustrating. So we are thankful and welcome to this change in habits. Lincoln then gets a visit from his sister who talks about how she beat him and then she holds his hand and sometimes gives it lots of kisses! Then he get into his car seat - usually cries - for some reason he really doesn't like getting in there, Olivia didn't really either. This is typically when I think about the fact that he is probably going to spit up, and literally when I think of it, he does it, and so we clean that up (no, I don't go re-change him - it's just likely to happen again!). Then his big sister delivers one of his many stocking caps, and mom bundles his legs and zips him into his Snuzzler. Big sister always gets to go to the car first, and then Lincoln gets carried out, and Dad whisks them away to daycare in the Acadia!
On the way across town, Lincoln sometimes falls asleep, sometimes talks, sometimes hangs out... And, fortunately, generally on the way home, he falls asleep. When he gets home, he stays in his car seat in his room. Up until about a week ago, he really only slept for about 50 minutes for that arrival nap, but this last week he's slept closer to 2 or even 3 hours; we are quite lucky when he does that, because we can have dinner together and get a few things done without much concern especially if he is a little cranky..
He just got the jumpajump back from Quinny's house (she borrowed for some time) - and we are definitely liking our time in that, so we are excited about giving him a little more opportunity for fun - and standing! We also just put the Chicco (table high chair) up so he can join us at the table if he's awake when we are eating.
Oh, and because his cheeks are irresistible, he gets lots and lots of kisses. Once I get going, I have a hard time stopping on those cushy cheeks...
