Our little baby boy is one month away from being a one year old!

Lincoln still only has his two bottom teeth in, which he's had for quite some time..  And though with each month we've thought his top two or four were going to come in, this time, it's for real.  There is true white visible on a few of them.  So I believe by the time he turns one, he will have more than just the two teeth ;-)
Lincoln enjoys taking in the sights of new places, and he loves being outside especially.  When animals come around, as long as he is up with momma or dad, he gets super excited and he wags his legs around by kicking and swinging them.  It's cute.
He loves play time with his sister, well, it does seem he likes a lot of things about sister (most of the time).  She might be delicately placing her little peoples in a doll house or the airport, and he will come along and pick the entire thing up and dump everything out.  The two of them can really make a disaster of the living room in no time at all.  He enjoys knocking things down after sister has put them up (what little brother doesn't enjoy knocking toys around).
He's started to really get putting one toy into another toy - so the stacking toys make sense.  He hasn't quite figured out that when he lifts up something heavy and decides to drop it, it could land on him and hurt...  He loves playing with the ball popper, the little door/mailbox, and the old fashioned top.  He has gotten really good at playing ball - he picks up his balls and throws them to you well, and he will play it solidly for some time.  We've been impressed with this one, cause he's been doing it for a couple months...
His crawling is very advance, he can get from one side of the room to another with no issues at all. In fact, anything standing in his way will be pushed aside or mowed over... that's the kind of crawler he is!  My favorite example about the difference that stands between Livvy at this age and Lincoln, is the barriers from room to room.  So, with Olivia, we could set up a few shoes across a doorway, she'd approach them, look up at mom and dad, and then turn herself around and go the other direction.  Lincoln, no chance... we realized right away that shoes were nothing that slowed him down, so we found some bigger things - like some larger toy tubs that were full (and therefore a bit heavy).  But learned after maybe just one of the first times, that he wasn't even phased by that.  He approached these two toy tubs grabbed each with each arm, picked them up enough to dump them over, literally at the same time mind you, and then crossed through... the aftermath of his destruction and tons of little people strewn about as record of his capabilities.
Inside of the kitchen, he's really figured out more than just opening drawers and cupboards, but now he is into taking everything out of them.  It was cute the first couple of times...  not as cute when it seems that our main strainer is now stored in the living room, because it doesn't stay in the cupboard ever... and our glass mixing bowl might need to get moved... as Ben mentioned recently while Lincoln was twirling it around "Lincoln, there was a time where even dad wasn't allowed to barely use that bowl".
He loves cords and doesn't hear his mom and dad say no.. in fact quite the opposite, he just looks at us with a little grin.
This month he's become a little bit 'shy' when introduced to new people.  He tends to give them a big smile and then dip his head into mom's shoulder and sneak peaks back and forth while keeping his forehead buried.
He enjoys eating, he is all over table food now.  Though he still takes food from a spoon, he's annoyed when that is his whole meal.  He wants to pick up and eat.  He has been known to get through about 3/4 of a can of green beans in one sitting.  He likes diced tomatoes, as long as they aren't cold.  He has done well with most fruits.  He eats the egg yolks of sister's hard boiled eggs.  And sometimes he has some cooked egg yolk when sister gets a 'Grandma janie sandwich'.  He doesn't do too bad about stuffing his mouth too full, but he does miss his mouth a bit, so sometimes there's half a meal left around him when we are all done with dinner.
On the 20th of Aug, he went into acute care and got prescribed nebs for his wheeze... and antibiotics for his ears that were inflamed and nearing an infection.  But outside of that, we are really happy with how healthy this little boy is.
Lincoln, you are so much fun.  You are really very cheerful with big smiles for your family and for others.  You are inquisitive and tough... We enjoy watching you play on your own and interact with your sister and others.
