Olivia wakes up in between Mom and Dad right now… she slowly opens her eyes and gets very smiley when she sees her mom or dad, or better yet, when she sees both of us! She coos and gurgles and looks all around with her big eyes. She usually gets to lounge for a little bit, before Mom or Dad get her out of bed and take her to her changing table - Olivia's favorite spot in the house so far! She loves being on her changing table and in the morning she is an exceptionally good mood. She likes to listen to Mom or Dad sing to her while they change her very wet diaper and her PJs. She usually spits up a few times as well - sometimes right onto her new clothes if a bib isn't put on quick enough! Sometimes she has a little more playtime, but then she gets packed up into her car seat and into Dad's jeep she goes for a trip across town to Teresa's house. Mom rarely drops Olivia off, because Dad's work is on the same side of town as Theresa's house. In the car ride on the way there, Olivia generally chats Dad up. She tells him all about the day she has ahead of her.
Olivia has a pretty set routine at Theresa's. It seems she gets a little cat nap in after she gets there but before she has her first bottle around 9ish. Then she plays and takes a nap and wakes up sometime around 11:30 or 12pm to have another bottle and play some more. Then she takes a long afternoon nap - typically from 1-4pm! Then she has another bottle before Mom or Dad pick her up before 5:15! When Mom or Dad get to daycare, Olivia is VERY excited to see them - always with a BIG smile to greet her parents! On the way home from Theresa's, Olivia has her good days and her bad. Sometimes she is fussy, and other time she is excited to get home and have some play time with her parents! She loves getting to sprawl out on the floor and enjoy her large TV and her rattles and toys. She usually has a little time in her bumbo, sometimes some lounger time with or without kicking her keyboard, and a little tummy time too. She likes spending time on dad's arms too, in the football hold for much needed gas relief position!
Olivia usually takes a short nap around 6 or 6:30pm. She usually has to be talked into this nap, but then she is ready to nurse and start her night routine. Until the last few nights, usual bedtime has been 7:30. She loves to take big girl baths (in the big tub with dad) and won't have much to do with her small bath anymore. Generally she doesn't like getting dressed after her bath - sometimes because she got too tired, sometimes because she is too hungry, but mostly cause it is close to bed time and being naked , cold, and not held isn't her thing by that point! Though if both mom and dad are there to sing to Olivia, she perks back up! She usually nurses and then goes right to sleep in her bed . She sleeps in her room until the first time she wakes. For a while that wasn't until 5 or 5:30, but in the last week or two it has been closer to 3 or 4am - we are blaming that on her cold/congestion. She then gets to stay in Mom and Dad's bed, mostly because Mom prefers to get as much sleep as possible. The last few weeks she nurses twice before we get up to get ready for her next day!
We have her four month appt on Friday, so look for some stats updates then!
