We had his checkup Tuesday and he measured in at the following:
Weight: 14lbs 4oz (so gained appx 5 pounds in 8 weeks) - this is in the 87th percentile
Height: 23.75 inches - this is the 100th percentile
Head Circumference: can't remember the measurement right now, but it was 97th percentile
You can see how long he is in his side by side pics
And I switched him into the bouncer to try to start getting pics on there since he will outgrow the lounger soon...
He had his shots, and I believe this boy reacted a little differently than Olivia ever did to shots. He was a very sleepy puppy the entire afternoon/evening. And then that night and the next day he was in terrible sorts. Upset and fussy when awake and didn't ever fall deeply asleep. It was so sad, but what was worse is that he went on a nursing strike. He refused to nurse altogether most of the day/night. He took a few ounces total from the bottle, but it was clear to me if things weren't better in 24 hours, we were going to the doctor's office. Thankfully the next night he fell asleep in my arms finally at about 1am, out in the living room chair. He slept until 7:30am the next morning - he woke up and instantly wanted to nurse - and I wanted him to so it worked out well!! And today he had a long nap in the lounger - it's been a while since he was in that deep of sleep without being in a carseat for the sleep!
Speaking of carseats, we went to the cities over the weekend and he was such a good boy! He slept from Brookings until Morton, MN - where we stopped for him to take a bottle. Then he slept again until Young America, where he woke up and had a blowout - exciting, good thing our Glammy (Kelli) was there to help us! Then he fell back asleep... he woke up sometime on 169, when Olivia was also at end, and the two of them screamed for about 15 minutes. On the return trip he slept for close to 4 hours, unfortunatey due to some setbacks for getting out of town, that didn't put us in Brookings. But we all stopped on the side of the road, nursed, and then he cried for about 15 minutes before Marshall, was fine for our lunch stop and then slept till Brookings where I nursed him again and he went back to sleep until Huron - and stayed asleep when we got there even! And then slept for our return trip. It was a long day in the car for Mom, Dad, Olivia (and probably Kelli), but not for that little bug.
He loves tubby time - and now regularly shares tubbys with his sister. He even joined Wyatt and Olivia over Thanksgiving weekend (however, they were a little wild and loud for his poor baby ears).
Here are the questions they ask at the two month checkup (and our responses):
Can he hold his head up on his own for a little bit at a time? -Oh yes, he's pretty stable now. He's been holding his head since he was born - he's just gotten a lot stronger with it now. (He then proceeded to wow our doctor with his tummy time show for her). -side note: what's amusing about this is Olivia HATED tummy time, she would just start screaming when we did it.. so we didn't do it often for her.. she wasn't delayed with muscles, but certainly not at the top of her class like Lincoln is...
Does he coo or start to make sounds? - yes, he's very interactive when he wants to be ;-)
Social smiling? - yes, once more, we've seen a lot of smiling the last several weeks..
Does he react to loud noises? -like his sister? um, yes!
So, let's admit it, he's a star baby ;-)
Then we talked about his schedule and how he is a 'snacker-sleeper' (eats a little, sleeps a little, eats a little, sleeps a little). Although some days he surprises us (like today). I know when he gets to daycare Theresa will whip him into shape and he won't be such a snacker sleeper for her. Though she'll be giving him a bottle which makes a difference ;-)
Here's an 'i'm mad' look - just because...
