At nine months, Olivia has a lot going on. She's crawling as of 9 April!
That top right tooth finally broke through - which was on the verge when we posted her update at 8 months. It was 'busting at the seams' for at least a month, if not more! Poor girl!
In the middle of March she started to wave hello and buh bye.
These last few weeks, she has started to really say Dad/Daddy once again. She makes tons of sounds and uses lots of consonants, and she has this strange Daffy Duck type sound she uses sometimes. This last week (so a bit into her 9th month), she started saying 'nigh nigh' when she gets tired, it's really cute - her first real communication with us!
She loves her tubby more and more each day. She usually takes a 20 minute bath before she goes to bed. She loves moving around in her tubby and entertaining dad as sits next to her. Mom usually does housework and peaks her head in every now and then, which is also cute cause Olivia peaks her head over the top of the tub and grins big…
Eating is becoming quite a big deal, we added in white potatoes, grapes, mangos, wheat cereal, peas, zucchini, and a few others within the last month. She LOVES most all of her food! after her 9 month checkup, we started adding in new foods like cottage cheese and cheddar cheese. We plan to start ground beef really soon! She continues to have a head bobble, and from what we can tell it is related to music, so typically around dinner we listen to the radio.
She loves playing with her toys and roaming around the room to gain access to all her toys. She loves using an old tin that we have in the living room as her drum - she finds whatever she can to drum on it, and likes to notice the differences between items. I know there is video of this, but I don't know if I've posted any...
As for her checkup, she weighed in at 18.31, which was in the 44 percentile. Her length and her head were both in the 68 percentile. Lastly, we decided (along with the doctor), to put her on Zyrtec, as it seems just like her momma, she is struggling with Allergies and that's the 'cold' we've thought she's had for the last months. She has been on the medicine for about two weeks and we've noticed a significant difference, she finally doesn't cough all night long and she also doesn't have a constant runny nose, so that's good...
The living room is regularly in full toy disarray, but we wouldn't have it any other way. We absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this little girl and all that she is and all that she will be...
life is good :-)
Interesting about the allergies...I took Sophie to the dr a week ago and was also told that she has allergies and now takes Allegra. We tried Zyrtec at first, but didn't notice a difference. She definitely seems better with the reight med for her! She also does not cough at night any more, although she still gets a runny nose. Do you think that you will get her in for allergy testing? I am undecided at this point. Might wait and see......
