Olivia is seven months old!

For Olivia's 7 month birthday, she gets her first experience with surgery. Tomorrow morning, Dr. DeSautel will be putting tubes in Olivia's ears. We are hopeful about getting back to the way things used to be, prior to her ear infection run for the last few months… nights when Olivia would sleep 11 or 12 hours without problem, nights when Olivia would wake up only with coos and smiles, instead of crying… nights when Olivia seemed to get good sleep and not toss and turn… she did have her left ear drum rupture last weekend, which was really sad, but we think it did make her feel better!

For the last month, we haven't had any problems with her during the day… she is a great baby and we LOVE LOVE LOVE all of her developments and changes, we just want her health to get back to good - so we know she isn't dealing with pain anymore!!

Olivia started eating solids this month, and as you have seen from the videos she is really good at it! She loves her cereal and she just started squash this last week. She isn't in love with squash, but when mixed with milk and some cinnamon and warmed, she does okay! Tonight we had bananas and at first we weren't sure, but then we decided it was okay!

Next on the menu for the coming weeks: Sweet Potatoes/Avocadoes and possible some ginger rice!!

Here are some things that Olivia has experienced/learned in the last month:

o First Chiro treatments
o Always trying to sit up and out of her carseat
o Pushing away from you when she is being held 'I'm in charge and I don't want to be so close to you'!
o Loves playing with her mailbox toy (carrying , chewing on and hitting her letters against things), enjoys her mallet and all of the balls she has for toys!
o Scooting and working on crawling, particularly over things and people!

And some things that Olivia has seemingly mastered:

o Giggling and squealing… dad or mom can get her going at least daily
o Putting her feet into her mouth if she wants them there!
o Sitting up - I am all about sitting up on my own and playing with all my toys!
o Pooping.. She's never been too regular, especially for being breastfed, but since her chiro treatments, we've seen a significant increase in regularity, which came at perfect timing because of the introduction to solids…
o Started to chew on her top lip, pulling it in and the pushing her lower lip out really big and pouty like… if Grandpa Molander were still with us, he'd tell her she better be careful or a bird will come by and poop on it. So, her dad told her instead!

We can't wait to see what the next month brings for us!!
